Coaches Meeting: Monday, July 29 at 6:30 pm in the EFCC Fellowship Hall

Referee Meeting: Monday, TBD at 6:30 pm in the EFCC Gym Annex

A commissioner helps oversee an area of this ministry.  For instance, the coaching commissioner would meet w/our coaches, help train them, answer questions throughout the season, and follow up on any concerns someone may have on a particular game day.  This responsibility is more time consuming than the responsibilities listed below.   Current commissioners needed:

*Game Day (Internship position)

            *Snack Bar

            *Court Monitor

            *Host Family

This position is about three hours a week of volunteering. Coaches contact players at the beginning of the season oversee a one hour practice (once a week), coaches a game each Saturday, leads devotionals during practice and answers any parent questions that might arise.  An assistant coach will assist the head coach with their duties throughout the season and is expected to be at the practices and games.  (Experience helpful but not required.)

We ask that you would give us two – three hours of your time each Saturday during the games. You are responsible for knowing the rules, call games fairly, keep the players safe, and help kids understand the rules.  (Experience helpful but not necessary).

This team of volunteers executes & administrates our basketball evaluations each basketball season.  Our evaluations this year are on Saturday, July 20 and Saturday, July 27 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.  This helps us place each player on the best suitable team.  We evaluate each player by looking at shooting, dribbling, quickness, etc.  Our evaluation team of volunteers will be broken up into stations to help us evaluate each of these basketball skills.  We will also have a separate registration and data entry team that processes the information.

This position is about 2 hours a week of volunteering. A gym monitor oversees the gym during practice times and/or during the games. Gym monitor opens the gym (for practices only), welcomes and creates a relationship with the parents/players as they arrive, adjusts hoops for different age groups, helps coaches with logistical questions, distributes pertinent information provided by the office, and keeps the gym safe for our players and guests.

This position is anywhere from 2-4 hours a week (depending on your availability) during games on Saturdays. You will be selling snacks and drinks from the Gym Annex (small room in the Gym). Collecting and accounting for money collected.

The team parent is one who will commit to caring for the other families on your team.  You would intentionally reach out to other families on your team to create a relationship, find out if they have any needs that you or the team can help them with (outside of basketball), and overall just love on the families well!

This team member will partner with the Upward program by committing to pray for the people involved in this program throughout the 100 days of prayer (pre-season to the end of the season).  This can take as long or as short as you would like.  You will receive weekly emails with subjects of suggested prayer for each day that will pertain to important things happening that day/week!

Our devotional speakers help us out one Saturday during the season for 3-4 hours.  During the halftime of four games, you will share a devotional with kids and parents.  Your devotion will be based on a provided scripture, which coincides with the memory verse that the players are learning.
