In a dramatic move bound to have profound social and economic impacts, Governor Gavin Newsom late Wednesday night ordered Californians to cancel or postpone gatherings of 250 or more people statewide to slow the spread of the disease through at least March. Newsom followed up Thursday morning with an executive order and made clear during a news conference that he considers the directive to be mandatory.

A note from our EFCC Council Chairman, Jim Postma states:
“The contagion and risks are increased greatly in groups, thus we have decided to halt all gatherings on our campus beginning March 14. That is drastic, we know, but the risks of this disease can also be drastic, especially among our seniors – myself included. This decision is based on preparedness in protecting you, our church family, and not on fear. We need to continue to be The Church, but we know that The Church is not its buildings, its campuses, and its programs. It is believers in Christ who worship Him, learn from His Word, and live out His teachings.”

We look forward to our next gathering and continue to strive to be The Church!
