UW Sports Camp is a three-day camp for children ages 4-12 years old that provides a positive and encouraging environment for fun, fast-paced learning and also includes times of singing songs together.

When: July 5, 6 & 7 from 9:00 am – 12:15 pm

Cost: $35.00

Camp Location:  Sierra View Elementary School, 1598 Hooker Oak Avenue, Chico

REGISTRATION

Before you register your child, you must read EFCC’s ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, WAIVER & RELEASE form. You will be required to initial that you have read and agree to the terms listed in this form as part of the registration process.

ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, WAIVER & RELEASE

Choose one sport below and click to register.  Note: You may only choose one sport per child.

Ages 4-5 yrs – Team 45

Skills taught: Throwing, catching, jumping, running & other basic motor skills

Ages 6-12 yrs – Soccer

Skills taught: Dribbling, passing, trapping, defense, goalkeeping, shooting & heading

Girls Ages 6-12 yrs – Cheerleading

Skills Taught:  Hand positions, jumps, stunts, dance & cheers

Ages 8-12 yrs – Basketball

Skills taught:  Dribbling, defense, shooting, passing & rebounding

Ages 8-12 yrs – Ultimate Frisbee

Skills taught:  Throwing, catching, defense, passing & serving

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

As a Team 45 assistant coach, you have one of the largest responsibilities in how the week of camp goes for the four and five-year-olds. Your energy and your involvement will dictate how much fun and growth the children on your team have.

Position:  to assist in coaching kids in their sport (with the help of UW’s coach), and also help them grow in their spiritual journey!

Age:  ages 17 & up

Time Commitment:  1 hour of prep before sports camp, 4 hours per day at sports camp.

  1. Preparation for the drills and activities for each day.
  2. Meeting with the entire sports camp team 30 minutes before camp and 10 minutes after camp.
  3. Greeting and meeting campers before camp each day.
  4. Interacting with campers during the large group times, this includes doing song motions and also making sure children are not distracting others from what is happening up front.
  5. Follow the direction of the Team 45 head coach and guide your campers through drills.
  6. Guiding a group of 4- and 5-year-olds through a day, getting them from session to session.
  7. Memorizing the camp verse.
  8. Having fun with the campers and keeping the focus on them during the camp time.
  9. Being available for the Camp Director and UW Head Coach to assist in small duties such as handing out snacks, set up and tear down of facilities, etc.
  10. Being open to campers asking questions about your faith and being ready to share the gospel.

  1. Preparation for your 10-minute Coach’s Share Time.
  2. Meeting with the entire sports camp team 30 minutes before camp and 10 minutes after camp.
  3. Greeting and meeting campers before camp each day.
  4. Interacting with campers during the large group times, this includes doing song motions and also making sure children are not distracting others from what is happening up front.
  5. Follow the direction of the sports head coach and guide your campers through drills during the sports sessions.
  6. Leading a ten-minute coach’s share time. This time should include a personal story and time for the kids to interact. During this time, you are the leader for your team of campers.
  7. Memorizing the camp verse.
  8. Having fun with the campers and keeping the focus on them during the camp time.
  9. Being available for the Camp Director and UW Head Coach to assist in small duties such as handing out snacks, set up and tear down of facilities, etc.
  10. Being open to campers asking questions about your faith and being ready to share the gospel.

As a registration team member, you are responsible for helping with the administration of sports camp. From the check in process and collecting sports flashes all the way through helping the Registration Coordinator with follow-up of kids that attended camp. Each day of camp there will be a time of check-in and check out.

Position:  Helping with the administration of sports camp – from check in process to collecting sports flashes to check out.  You help to create a safe and fun environment for the children to have a blast!

Time Commitment:  30 minutes of prep before sports camp, 2-4 hours per day at sports camp.

  1. Learning the administration process and how to help.
  2. Interacting and helping parents feel welcome and safe at sports camp
  3. Passing out nametags that will help coaches identify children.
  4. Working with the coordinator during the check-in/check-out process.
  5. Set up registration table with other volunteers for check-in/check-out.
  6. Collect money as parents pay for camp.
  7. Accept new applications during the first couple of days.
  8. Assist the UW Sports Ministry Admin Intern with passing out shirts.
  9. Being open to campers asking questions about your faith and being ready to share the gospel.

 

As the snack coordinator, your job is to supply snacks and coordinate a team of volunteers to hand out snacks. From the planning and shopping through the passing out and clean up during the actual week of camp.

Position:  To help create the environment of fun and learning by providing snacks that will help sustain energy and focus for the children at camp!

Time Commitment:  30 minutes of prep before sports camp, 2-4 hours per day at sports camp.

  1. Prepare snacks as directed by Snack Coordinator.
  2. Check snacks against the list of known allergies.
  3. Set up snacks as directed by Snack Coordinator.
  4. Ensure each child receives a snack.
  5. Help set up a way for campers to discard of trash.
  6. Help with the clean up of snack time and kitchen area.

READ THIS FIRST:  If you have not received an email stating that you are a pre-approved EFCC Children’s Ministry volunteer, this is not the form for you.  Please select either the Adult Volunteer Application or the Youth Volunteer Application to proceed.
